No more stones in bunkers Many amateurs struggle from the sand, so when your ball comes to rest on or against a stone or twig it feels like the golfing gods are against you. With exceptions, the current rule (13-4) states that you ‘must not touch or move loose impediments’ in bunkers, leaving you susceptible to deflected shots and scratches or dents to your club. However, under the proposed new rule (12.2a) you will be allowed to move loose impediments before you hit out of bunkers as long as you don’t test the condition of the sand. Surely you can’t argue with this change? |
