Welcome to another edition of our newsletter. It was a shock win for world number 417 Kevin Long, as the American claimed his maiden PGA Tour title at the Desert Classic in California. A bogey-free card for Long – in what was only his sixth tour event – led to a final round of 65, finishing on 26 under. He fought off stiff competition from the considerably more experienced Phil Mickelson, who was left ruing a lack of composure on the greens, as he finished one shot behind Long. Mickelson had carded an opening round of 60 – his best ever round on tour – but he failed to cling on to his lead as Long claimed a well-deserved victory. Enjoy the read. |
